Hood Warfare 2 player count, live from Steam

Where these numbers come from

The current count comes from Steam's own public API, the same number SteamDB and Steam Charts show. It counts Steam accounts that have the game open at that moment. We read it every 10 minutes and keep the readings, so the daily chart on this page starts on October 13, 2026, when we began tracking.

Concurrent players are not the same as owners or sales. Steam does not publish sales. The review count is a rough signal: Steam counted about 900 reviews for Hood Warfare 2 five days after launch (the live count is on is it worth it).

Is the Hood Warfare 2 player count fake?

The number is reported by Steam, not by the developer, so Trapstar Games cannot type in a figure. A Steam discussion titled "Player-Count is FAKE!!!" and some reviews claim the count is inflated, but none of them show evidence.

What the count does include: anyone with the game open, whether they are in an online match, a bot match or sitting in the menu. A player in a bot match still counts as a player.

Why are some matches full of bots?

Hood Warfare 2 ships with bot matches, which Steam lists as its single-player mode. Several players report online lobbies that seem to be partly bots. The developer has not said whether online matches are filled with bots when few players are queued. If you want only humans, join a match with a friend through the join match screen (see how to play with friends).

Is Hood Warfare 2 dead?

Compare the live number with the peak above. Most viral indie shooters lose a large share of players in the first weeks; whether Hood Warfare 2 keeps a steady base will show in the daily chart. Trapstar Games shipped its first patch four days after launch and says more updates are coming (patch notes).
