Hood Warfare 2 anti-cheat and cheaters
How to report a cheater
- During the match, open the pause menu.
- Choose Report and pick the player.
- Keep playing or leave. Reports are reviewed by the developer; a player with many reports who is judged to be cheating is banned.
Why cheating was the top complaint
In the first days after launch, reports of cheating were the most upvoted complaint in negative Steam reviews. We reviewed all 914 reviews posted by October 13 (every language, including some Steam leaves out of its headline score): 55 mentioned cheating, and only 38% of those recommended the game, against 79% across all 914. The developer named those complaints as the reason it added anti-cheat.
Kernel-level anti-cheat
The Steam store page lists kernel-level anti-cheat (checked October 13, after patch 1.0.10). This type of software runs with elevated Windows access and may affect compatibility with Steam Deck, Linux or a virtual machine (see platforms).
Player reports and account safety
This site does not link to software or instructions that violate game rules. Using unauthorized software breaks the rules of the game and Steam and can get your account banned.
Your match was ruined by cheaters?
Report them, then try a new match from the join match screen. If you bought the game recently and want out, Steam refunds games played for under two hours within 14 days.
