How to play Hood Warfare 2 with friends

Join the same match

1. Each of you needs your own copy on Steam. Steam Family Sharing lets family members borrow the game, but a borrowed copy cannot be played at the same time as the owner is playing it.
2. Decide who goes first. That player starts or joins an online match.
3. Everyone else opens the join match screen and picks the same match. Patch 1.0.10 fixed the ping shown on this screen, so use it to choose a match that is close to all of you.
4. If the match is full, wait for a slot or start a new match together.

For the first Hood Warfare, the developer told players to pick the same region and find each other in the match browser. We expect the same here but have not confirmed it in Hood Warfare 2.

Is there a party system or invites?

Not yet. Steam discussion threads such as "Party/Lobby Implementation" and "We need an option to invite friends to a party and join games" are among the most active on the forum. Trapstar Games has said more updates are coming but has not named a party system. Watch the patch notes.

Voice chat

• Added in patch 1.0.10 on October 12, 2026.
• Talk to the whole lobby or only your team.
• Push to talk is on by default, bound to T.
• Switch to open mic in the settings.
• There is no proximity chat.

Play against bots together or alone

Bot matches are the single-player mode Steam lists. The store page says you choose the map, mode and match settings and add bots to fill out the teams. Use them to learn the maps and test loadouts without other players; we have not confirmed how many friends can join one bot match.

Cannot join your friend?

Make sure both of you are on the latest patch (restart Steam to force the update), then try a match with lower ping. Players report that matches are hosted by players and that the host can switch mid-match. More steps are on the fixes page.
